The historic Willmore Lodge was built in 1930 by Union Electric and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is now the home to the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the Lake of the Ozarks Visitor's Center, and the popular Bagnell Dam History Museum. Admission to the museum is free and the Visitor's Center is a wealth of information, which is worth getting acquainted with, because the study of history is familiarization with the information that built modernity, including us.
